Ingredients for figs and olives spread

  • ½ cups dried figs
  • 2 cups pitless black olives
  • 2 teaspoons capers
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 tbsp freshly squeezed orange juice
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 fresh figs, as decoration

 

Soak dry figs in hot water for about an hour until they become plump and soft (if you want to speed things up, bring water in a pot to a boil, and then reduce to light heat. Add figs and cook for about 15 minutes).

 

After the figs have soaked, chop them up roughly and mix them together with olives, capers, oregano and freshly squeezed orange juice in a blender and blend everything together. Place the mixture in a bowl and season with pepper.
